The Buddha taught that the difficulties and sufferings we experience in our lives are rooted in our self-centeredness, the desire to benefit only ourselves. Joy and happiness, on the other hand, arise when we devote ourselves to the good of others. The mind training we will study during this weekend contains, in just a few verses, profound practices that help us transform our self-centered habits, to unleash our potential for unconditional compassion and liberating wisdom.
Khenpo Tashi Sangpo will also give the transmission of a simple practice for Buddha Avalokiteshvara during this weekend. Avalokiteshvara is the embodiment of the enlightened compassion of all buddhas. It is therefore considered especially beneficial to cultivate our connection with this essence.
